David L. Wieland was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 10, 1954. He attended the University of Nevada-Reno in 1972-73 and the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1973 to 1980, with degrees in History (1976) and Juris Doctor (1980). David clerked for the Honorable George M. Flanigan of the Missouri Court of Appeals Southern District in 1980-81, and has been in the private practice of law since that time.

Mr. Wieland’s practice has focused on banking law, having organized several state banks and two national banks, and anything relating to banking including collections, creditor representation in bankruptcy, UCC compliance and foreclosures. His practice also includes estate planning, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. David represents a variety of business clients throughout the area and can assist with all aspects of the organization and development of general business corporations, not-for-profits, and limited liability companies, including commercial real estate contracts, mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Wieland lectures to attorneys regarding the new Uniform Commercial Code, Associate Circuit Court practice, Landlord-Tenant law, Foreclosures, and Health Care Directives in several Continuing Legal Education seminars.
David lives in Springfield, is married and has one child. He enjoys biking, swimming, hiking and spending time with his family.
